Welcome to Extension In A Box...

The future of building and construction is changing. The UK Government is driving towards net zero in 2050 and everyone is looking at ways to improve energy efficiency, especially in their homes.

With raw material prices and energy costs rising, the more traditional methods of building the UK are used to seeing are becoming out of budget for many.

Working with LEKA systems, we have spent a number of years developing our Extension In A Box, a system that enables us to deliver an entire modular single storey extension to your door, ready for on site assembly in just a few days. Manufactured in the UK Extension In A Box is not made from timber or steel and can be installed on ground screws which are approved by building control.

This means zero concrete, less mess and a faster build time.  In just five days an extension can be built from start to finish, with full building regulations.

OUR EXTENSIONS ARE DIFFERENT

Structurally tested and Pre-approved

Building control compliant

GRP framework

Maximum 215mm wall depth , more internal space

100mm foil backed solid floor insulation

130mm foil backed solid roof insulation

150mm solid wall insulation

25mm insulated external structural roof board

Traditional brick slip finish available

GROUND SCREW INSTALLATION

A GREEN SOLUTION

The preferred method of installation is using ground screws,
dependent on ground conditions and requirements these can be
up to 3 metres in length saving time, mess and and have the added benefit of being more environmentally friendly as no concrete is being poured.

A membrane is then applied before our GRP
framework is fixed directly to the screws, ensuring the closest possible level surface.

As the system is prefabricated in the factory
prior to it being delivered to site, it is achievable to do all of this
work and have the framework complete within the first 48 hours.

WHY DO WE USE GRP?

HIGH CORROSION RESISTANCE

Offering exceptional corrosion resistance, GRP is  highly tolerant of the most aggressive of  environments. Its total resistance against chloride ion attacks demonstrates its durable nature and  ability to withstand harsh conditions. Unlike traditional alternatives GRP delivers a long-term practical solution that overcomes the inherent corrosion challenges facing the industry today.

HIGH STRENGTH

GRP’s superior tensile strength is equal to or greater than equivalent steel profiles. Despite its lightweight properties, GRP offers impressive strength-to-weight load-bearing performance. The high glass-to-resin ratios used in the technically advanced formulation ensures GRP products  outperform and outlast traditional materials.

LOW MAINTENANCE

GRP is an incredibly resilient and durable material that delivers outstanding cost benefits. GRP, in all its forms, offers a low maintenance solution with little need for renovation or refurbishment during its lifespan.

LONG LIFE CYCLE

When subjected to normal operating conditions and environment, the life expectancy of the profiles will be 40 years plus, subject to the normal discoloration that will be expected

LIGHTWEIGHT

75% lighter than steel equivalents, GRP significantly reduces transport costs and eliminates the need for heavy lifting equipment. As it can be easily maneuvered onsite, the risk of manual handling injuries is mitigated.

OUR BUSINESS

Modular Build Group combines over 100 years of experience across domestic construction, traditional roofing, plastering, property development, project management and manufacturing industries.

An accredited fabricator of all LEKA systems products, we have spent a number of years understanding, refining and developing modular building.

With the UK government supporting modular building techniques and heading towards it's net zero goal and the rising costs of traditional building materials, modular building offers homeowners the opportunity to gain additional space, faster, cleaner and within budget.

We work with the RADIX group and their No More Digging network in order to provide a National Installation service. RADIX is the UK’s largest manufacturer, stockist and supplier of ground screws and screw piles, the low-carbon foundation system capable of supporting projects of all scales and sectors with minimal impact on the environment.
